Job Description

The HVAC Service Technician provides thorough diagnostics, professional service repairs, furnace and A/C tune ups and enrolls clients into our No Worry Service Agreement Club. The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing HVAC systems, proposing repairs, recording job descriptions, collecting customer authorizations, managing his or her truck inventory and keeping his or her service vehicle in order. The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for establishing new client relationships and creating experiences that keep clients coming back for future service needs. The HVAC Service Technician earns positive online reviews and promotes his or her team to prospective customers and employees. The HVAC Service Technician works under the direction of the HVAC Manager and welcomes coaching that helps to develop customer service skills.

 

Job Duties:

  • Performs a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks in the operation of heating, air conditioning and ventilating systems in residential homes.
  • Repairs and maintains thermostats, air filters, blower fans, belts and bearings.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs various makes and models of HVAC equipment.
  • Understands the operating principles of both heating and air conditioning, as well as work safety practices related to HVAC work.
  • Knowledgeable of the methods, tools and equipment used in the repair of heating and air conditioning equipment in residential applications.
  • Performs daily work duties in the field with little to no supervision. 
  • Contributes to a positive team environment by recognizing successful performance, receiving respectful and encouraging coaching, to uphold Precision’s mission of taking care of every customer.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience maintaining and servicing HVAC equipment.
  • Possesses a valid Illinois driver's license.
  • Current EPA Certification.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check – No Felonies.
  • Ability to pass drug screening.
  • Possesses analytical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Provide superior customer service
  • Ability to recognize and locate conditions which require repair and maintenance work while keeping good records.
  • Ability to explain technical information to clients at a level they understand.
  • Ability to work independently by being empowered through the company’s core values.
